Does anyone actually want to see this thing? It really looks bad. He dude playing Conan sounds terrible and looks kind of weird too. This will bomb. ---

Just watched the trailer, and my low expectations for the movie dropped even lower. Also there is a girl who pronounces “Conan” wrong. ---

When I saw the trailer in theatres, I thought it looked pretty good, though the actor they got for Conan looked decidedly un-Conan like. ---

Ok, even I know Conan ain’t supposed to be pretty. Not that have I problem with Mr. Mamoa. 😉 I did think it was just a tad over the top to throw the upcoming Conan reference into Game of Thrones, though, where Drogo \ yells that he will raze their towns and rape their women. 😛 ---

As barbarians go, that dude is downright scrawny, and not just cause I’m comparing him to Ahnuld. That’s not going to ruin the movie for me, but I’m going to have to suspend a hell of a lot of disbelief when I watch it. ---

Accents all very American. Arnold’s accent actually worked for him in the original movie. The steroid heavy bodybuilder physiques in the original movie were a bit over the top, the more natural look works better. Can’t really tell from the trailer but it appears that Conan is all about “freedom” and liberation something in the trailer. This is way off the mark. Conan is not a “hero”. If anything he’s more of an anti-hero. Conan is mostly an unapologetic, self interested dick that will steal from you and fuck your daughters if given half the chance. It’s part of what makes his character compelling. It looks like this movie is dialing him up as a standard hero which (IMO) does not work well for his character.
