To avoid hijacking [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=709364): How would you react if you discovered that you were conceived when your mother was doing porn? For me, I think it’d be rather fascinating. And I’d try to find out who my father was. ---

I’d wonder who the fuck had been crazy enough to hire my mother to do porn, and what the fuck kind of drugs she’d been on to sign up for it. It’s not that I can’t picture her doing porn on account of being my mother, I can’t picture her doing porn on account of her whole life story, attitudes, etc. We’re talking about a woman whose religiosity is, at least in part, a reaction to a sexually-agressive father, as was her choice of a husband who was about as far from a dick-head as it’s possible to be and still own one. ---

there is a special birth certificate for this. instead of a line to enter the father’s name there is a column to list costars. ---

Could almost have happened with [Thora Birch](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thora_Birch). But likewise I look too much like a mix of both of my parents, so they’d _both_ have to have been in that porno. Met on the set? I’d be shocked…but…they both were pretty miserably poor back then, my mother recently fled to New York city from small town Maryland/Virginia, my father a struggling grad student. It wouldn’t be _completely_ insane ;). ---
