Sometimes, sexual activity requires mutual masturbation rather than intercourse. This gal that I’ve been with of late suggests that, rather than me being free and potentially making a mess out of the bed, she would prefer if I wore a condom when masturbating me to, well, contain the excitement. She says all her former guys always have. This proposition sounds just absurd to me. I can understand wearing that little rubber hat to protect against STDs and pregnancy, but why on Earth would I want to dull my senses just to keep from making a mess?? To me, this makes about as much sense as my old aunt using those plastic slipcovers on her furniture to keep it from getting dirty! I asked a couple of friends if they’ve ever used a condom solely for this purpose, and they’ve emphatically answered, “no”. Anybody else ever been asked to wear a 'dome for the sole purpose of “cleanliness”? ---

IME, it’s so difficult to be manually stimulated while wearing a condom as to make it not worth the effort. The condom will constantly try to bunch up, and you’ll have to use so much oil-based lube as to make a larger mess than just going for it. If you want a clean handjob, slip a sock on just before you come. It sounds and looks stupid, sure, but it works:) Perhaps you could do it in the shower, or just put a towel down before you go at it? Of course, oral sex is also an option, if you guys are into that. ---

Actually, if she frequently has cuts or such on her hands, it might not be a bad idea to use fingercots, or gloves, or a condom. Viruses and bacteria and whatnot, you know. Besides, semen in an open wound can really burn. ---

The Lady B and I have used them for cleanliness during regular intercourse (camping or such when showering later is difficult) but not for this. I suspect your girlfriend has a hangup that previous boyfriends were willing to tolerate for the sake of a handjob. You seem to have to make the same decision. ---

**Update:** She came by for a coffee this afternoon. I brought up the subject and told her I thought it was absurd and I’m not going to do it any more. She said that she knows how I feel about it and unless I wear one, I won’t be getting _anything_.
