During the Civil War free African-Americans in Pittsburgh built [Fort Robert Smalls](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Robert_Smalls) and in WW2 there was a [Camp Robert Smalls](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Robert_Smalls) so there is precedent for naming a Fort after him, I guess. ---

Although I’m proud of our man from Maine, this renaming is just another petty insult to the majority of folks who know that our POS President and his SecDef really mean the original confederate. Wink, wink, nod, nod. ---
