# Congrats Fresno State (CWS)

Not sure if anyone else is following this…

Nationally ranked 89th in the RPI going into Regionals. Only qualified because they won the WAC tournament. Beat the host and #1 seed (Long Beach State) and the #2 seed 2 out of 3 to advance.

Had to beat Arizona State (#3 nationally) in their home stadium in the Super-regionals.

In Omaha they beat the #2 and #6 national teams and then beat the #8 national team two out of three. Along the way they eliminated the WCC champ, the PAC-10 champ, the SEC champ, and the ACC #3 team. They also had wins against the Big West #2 and C-USA champ.

They have been on the road for 40+ days.

They are the lowest seeded team to win any NCAA title in any sport.

Congratulations to Fresno State Baseball - the 2008 NCAA National Champions. With all of the negative publicity surrounding the university lately it was great to see the community rally around these guys. What a roller-coaster.

I’ll give them congrats. I’m an LSU alum (and \*huge \* LSU fan in all sports) and follow college baseball fairy closely. I was rooting for Georgia (SEC) once LSU was knocked out, but I don’t really have a problem with Fresno State taking it. They got hot at the right time, played well, and deserved the win.
