Congratulations and thanks to The Chicago Reader and all the folks in charge of this website for keeping the SDMB flying during the year 2000 in such a seamless fashion. I can’t recall this board being disabled even once since the big change over many months ago. I will admit that I take the SDMB for granted day in and day out but I know it takes brains, patience and hard work to maintain an endeavour such as this. It is my humble opinion that we the posters, have been the beneficiaries of those attributes and I just wanted to take this moment before the new year to say thank you. (pouring a bottle of chea…umm Martini and Rossi and raising a glass) Here’s to a successful, prosperous and technical carefree 2001 Straight Dope Message board, you deserve it! ---

Here here, **aha**! Truly, the way that the management keeps both the board, and all of us, in line is phenomenal. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! ---

…for posting before me. Don’t want people to think I’m stalking aha or something. 😃 Anyway, I agree completely with you, aha. Hats way, way off to all the Tech people, Admins, and Mods for giving us such a wonderful thing. You’ve had to deal with SO much this year, and you’ve done it beautifully. ---

\; To the Mods/Admins that work so hard to make the board #1. To each and every person behind the screen names that bring this place to life. And since it _is_ the season of joy and forgivness …to the socks and trolls (gotta admit it would get kinda dull without them.) All the best of everything to everyone. Hermit ---

In the OP aha started to say “pouring a glass of chea…” I’m sure it wasn’t “cheap wine” it HAD to be “cheer” that was being mispelled, didn’t it? Oh well, what I buy this year will not be expensive. Last year I went all out on New Year’s, and bought my first(and probably last) bottle of Dom Perignon. New Years Eve is my birthday too. I second all of the postings cheering on the SDMB staff. I LOVE this place, and I find it hard to get on the computer without checking in for at least a few minutes. Merry christmas to you all and a Happy New Year too!!! ---
