Well, that was speedy: todayā€™s mail included my letter from the Texas Board of Law Examiners, saying that I passed and give us some money dammit. So, once I send my checks in, theyā€™ll mail out my license, and then I take the oath. Hereā€™s the thing: thereā€™s a big, formal swearing-in ceremony in Austin on the 18th. Should I go? I mean, itā€™s an excuse for a trip to Austin, which is about a 6 hour drive from where I am. Still, itā€™d be neat to attend the big ceremony, and there are lotsa Dopers in Austin I can hang with ( **Sapphire Bullet**? Nudge, nudge?). Well, I reckon I have a few days to think it over. **pravnik** , are you going to the big ceremony? Itā€™s even farther from you, is it not? ---

Iā€™m only 2 1/2 hours away, but I donā€™t think Iā€™ll be able to make the big ceremony, **Max**. Iā€™m taking off a half-day tommorrow and I donā€™t think the Judge will want to let me off again so soon (the other law clerk has been out sick for 3 days, too). You never know, though, I might. If I were able to Iā€™d definitely go. Sounds like fun. If you do decide to go let me know, if Iā€™m there we can give each other the secret lawyer handshake. ---
