Back to the discussion of people eating fish food, my sister used to eat dog food. Dog food was the closest thing to processed food that we had in the house, thus, it was a treat. You see, my Mom made our childhood birthday cakes with honey and wheat germ (for the ‘roughage’) and grew sprouts (sprouts I tell you!) in the kitchen. I’m not saying it’s a good thing to eat animal food, just that there are sometimes reasons for this behavior and we should be open minded about those with…diverse tastes. 😃 ---

Why do people have such a prejudice against eating dog food, I wonder? I’ve always been told that it has to pass the same FDA standards as people food. I’ll tell you what, I’d almost rather eat a can of Alpo than a hotdog. (Hotdogs are made of lips and assholes, my mother used to warn me. Lips don’t bother me, but assholes give me pause.) I bought some vitamin gravy for my dog’s dry food as an occasional treat. A little got on my finger when I was pouring it out, and I decided to taste it. You know what? It was pretty good. A little less salty than regular gravy, but not bad at all. ---

(I say character because I don’t know the woman’s actual views.) She makes a black-and-white statement, then you make an opposing black-and-white statement (at least, I think it was opposing… the OP was rather unclear). I realize that this is a rant, but it would be easier to understand if you clearly articulated some of the reasons you feel the character’s statement was fallacious. ---
