Well, now, on the gripping hand… Material like this is always vetted and approved, you can imagine what chance you might have if you tried to hand out copies of Mark Twains _The War Prayer_ at an embarkation port. So he’s not that off-base. I was listening to NPR when they covered the most recent Pep-Rally for Death that Fearless Misleader held at a military base (my! the man _does_ love preaching to the choir, does he not?). The introduction afforded him by the commanding officer would have made Caligula blush. Definitely material to invoke the yawn that splashes, far superior to ipecac. I won’t repeat it here, you all would have to buy new keyboards. ---

No disagreement, **DtC** and **‘luc’** , that the “pray for Bush” pamphlets and fawning introductions play into the man’s overinflated sense of adequacy. I just don’t think these pamphlets are vetted; it’s the same sort of stuff that was pushed (“made available”) on troopers when I was a young squid. ---

I don’t understand why the the majority of the military seems to be so enamored of a draft-dodger and a deserter. ---

Whaddaya mean? While Gore was a Rear Echelon Motherfucker in Saigon, GeeDubya was valiantly defending the skies above Amarillo from Viet Cong aircraft! OK, so after a year he wandered off base for a beer and forgot to come back. It could happen to anybody! Perfectly understandable. Just ask **xeno** , if he had forgotten to attend his last year of enlistment, they would have smiled indulgently, patted him on the head and handed him his discharge papers, like they did for any other enlistee under the same circumstances. Its not like he was accorded any sort of special treatment on account having a rich and powerful Daddy. Or anything. ---
