I was checking CNN yesterday, and all of a sudden there she was. I was going to switch channels, but realized she was acting “normally”, (as compared to Fox channel type ranting) Wolf Blitzer and co-host were not playing super hardball, but she did express a lot of disappointment at the GOP and trump. KInd of freaked me out…but she is up to something. Pundits have noted she might be more prescient than we think, realizing trump is a really lame duck, and sinking fast into his own swamp.
The way I see it, she is aware enough of her own reputation that she feels she’s got nothing to lose making some noise while the rest of the House delegation lies low cowering in fear of saying the wrong thing.

I keep hearing MTG and president in the same sentence. And the people who are saying it aren’t even smiling. I would say I hope she runs because an absolute moron like that wouldn’t get anywhere, but I said the same thing about trump.
Anyone under the impression that Greene isn’t the same woman who chased a Parkland survivor down the sidewalk is being conned like a Trump mark.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but if Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton can’t win as Democrats, there isn’t a snowballs chance in hell that any woman, let alone MTG, could win as a Republican.
I’m not so sure of that. She’ll have a hard time in the Republican primary, certainly, and that would be the obstacle most likely to limit her.
But if a generic Republican woman can win their primary, she’ll have a major advantage in the general. Getting through the primary will give her implicit vetting as a “true conservative”, and she’ll pick up a few gender solidarity votes from the middle (though probably a negligible amount from the left). A lot of the explicit sexism that sank Clinton and Harris won’t be used - or will be decried, with attending accusations of hypocrisy - and the right-wing noise machine will be painting her as “as tough as any man” (think Margaret Thatcher, though the electoral systems are different).
I don’t think that Greene has anything like the kind of appeal that could get her to a primary win, but I wouldn’t count her (or any Republican woman) out in the general, especially if pitted against a Democratic woman.
She’s still nuts, but she’s capable of doing a convincing impersonation of someone who’s not nuts.
And she’s less nuts than some of the other members of her party. Trump, Vance, Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, and Jim Jordan.
Bingo. When she was chasing those Parkland survivors she was just putting on an act which makes her more reprehensible in my view. She’s not a crazy person with crazy views, she’s an immoral person willing to hurt people for her own political advantage.
She got into Congress in the first place because she ran unopposed, and she gains credibility by dint of being in there whether she does anything or not. Except for her recent reasonableness, there’s really no reason why anyone should want to even acknowledge her existence.
What terrifies me the most about this statement is that the American public at large was conned into electing such a blindingly obvious corrupt grifter as TFG into the presidency not once, but twice.
I think the exact opposite. A woman has a better chance of being elected as a conservative, because a lot of people on her side who would use sexism against a liberal woman would have to swallow and shut up when she’s their candidate. There’s a reason Margaret Thatcher won in the UK as a conservative.
