I think I must be too old, because although I have been aware of him for what seems like forever, i cannot for certain say that I have ever seen any of his material. (FWIW, I watched The Simpsons when they were filler on the Tracy Ullman Show, but haven’t watched more than three episodes since they go their own series. However, one of those episodes \*was \*the one with the Monorail. Whoa, irony.) ---

I don’t hate him or don’t think he’s ugly but I sure don’t think he’s funny and I also don’t “get” him. I point the the above linked clip as an example. ---

While his TBS show was newish, I watched a few episodes while Letterman was on a break. The guy was clearly not enjoying doing the show. And given at the time what good things people were saying about the show, this was a surprise. An unhappy host makes for a poor show, unless that is your shtick (as in Letterman). I’d watch Ferguson as a backup but **Mrs. FtG** hates the guy. I have no idea why. Maybe it’s the Geoff Peterson thing. ---

I could have easily had a thing for him at one time or another. I’ve crushed on stranger. I vaguely recall a movie I half-watched once about teenage bank robbers. One of them had a massive crush on Conan O’Brien. It was funny, because it was an atypical character trait for a teen movie, yet it rang true. People aren’t only attracted to the stunningly gorgeous. ---

Thought it was among the most consistently funny things I’d seen, at least for that format. (A show that airs five nights a week can’t compare to the best of scripted shows that air 20-odd episodes per year.) I understood why he was watered down in his brief sting on The Tonight Show. But I really thought that on TBS he’d go crazy. Instead he watered it down even more. I don’t get it. (Granted, I don’t have a TV now and haven’t been able to watch his show in almost a year, so it might have improved.) I think that movie was called Sugar and Spice. It was funny. I’m not usually attracted to pretty boys. So, it’s not like I’m getting anyone 10x hotter than him. It’s sort of like, I could see his appeal if say he looked like Brad Pitt and had the same shtick. I would see the hype. It’s not sex appeal, he’s not that funny, and he’s not doing something unique. I don’t get why he’s on tv when there’s litterally millions of people who are just like him. ---

I actually like Conan and Jay. I LOATHE Letterman, but Craig is pretty cool, don’t watch him as often as I should. ---

Leno and Lopez are pustules on the ass of comedy and should be fucked over as much as possible. Conan amuses me because it seems like one of his life’s goals is to push Martha Stewart over the edge. Plus, he’s the most attractive of the late night talk show lot. (Which I’ll admit is not necessarily saying a whole lot.) ---

I was seriously addicted to Conan, probably 1996-2000 or thereabouts. When I was in high school and college. I was a member of the Usenet group alt.fan.conan-obrien (or something like that) which was mostly girls my age I think. I did have a bit of a romantic crush on him and at one point I was seriously considering trying out for a writing internship on his show (my journalism college wouldn’t allow it for credit though). When Andy left I quickly tired of the show, and some time in my mid-20s I stopped caring altogether. I think part of it was lack of interest in the guests and stuff (famous actors - I much prefer The Daily Show interviews with non-actors) I tried to care again when Andy came back, but couldn’t, and when there was the big NBC kerfuffle but I got tired of the “Team Coco” shit really quickly and other than his final show on NBC I haven’t been able to watch a full show. I don’t know if it’s a matter of him changing or me changing. I think the latter. Too bad he couldn’t keep up his momentum. Maybe the celebrity chat show is what’s going the way of the dodo and Conan needs a new gig. Something 30 minutes at a time. ---

I have silly notions like that. Just as I like fat people, but I wouldn’t get a fat guy teaching a class at my gym. His job is to make people laugh. If anything, you should want him to be funny looking. Personally, I haven’t watched Conan more than a couple times since he was on Late Night. Back then, he benefited greatly from following Leno, who would make oral surgery seem funny by comparison. ---

I have been watching Conan off and on since i was a kid, back when his show was very new, very late, and pretty awful…and I always liked him. I think he’s quirky and funny and quick and very clever, especially in his interviews. His standup is a bit dorky, but that’s his shtick. My mother is one of you who doesn’t “get” him at all and refuses to watch his show. People around my age (34) seem to be his audience; anybody over fifty just refuses to let go of Leno and Letterman. He isn’t of their generation and nary the twain shall meet. I am Conan’s demographic and I like him. As for his appearance…um, I’m sorry, since when did any late night talk show host win any beauty awards? Leno looks like a caricature of someone who looks like Leno. Who cares? (I happen to think Conan is cute, in his dorky gangly way, but that’s beside the point.) How petty to talk about that like he’s competing with George Clooneys. CONAN! CONAN! CONAN!
