# Consensus on Best Axis and Allies version?

What’s the consensus on which is the best version of Axis and Allies to play?

I mean versions representing the complete war around the globe, so:

Axis and Allies Classic  
Axis and Allies Revised  
Axis and Allies 50th Anniversary  
Axis and Allies 1942  
Axis and Allies Europe 1940 + Axis and Allies Pacific 1940

In order of awesomeness:

Axis and Allies Classic _or_ Axis and Allies Revised which by ‘revised’ I’m assuming you mean [THIS](http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/10093/axis-allies)  
Axis and Allies Pacific 1940  
Axis and Allies 1942  
Axis and Allies 50th Anniversary  
Axis and Allies Europe 1940

ETA: Europe is worthless IMHO and the 50th Anniversary edition is worth getting only if you have too much money and time to waste.

I’ve only played Classic, Europe and Pacific (botht he 1941 versions).

I’d rank them:

Classic  
Pacific  
Europe

With the World At War expansion/add-on, which was sort of like the 50th Anniversary edition.
