You know what would be truly funny? If we got really excited about global warming, whole fucking world pouring brainpower, money and effort into solving the problem. We get lucky, a couple Einsteins and badda-bing, cheap and abundant green energy. Biggest boon to humankind in a thousand years, easy. Make eradicating malaria and smallpox look like chickenfeed. And then we find out we were wrong, there was no real threat from global warming, we just panicked and made a quantum leap into a bright future.
