Mad magazine’s introductory bio of “Spy vs. Spy” creator Antonio Prohias, who had fled Cuba shortly after Fidel took power, noted that he refused to become a Castro convertible.

Still, I’m not going to hold my breath for DJ’s response regarding Obama ALMOST advocating execution of children convicted of political crimes.

UK land area: 93,628 mi²  
Cuba land area: 42,426 mi²

Cuba is close to 1/2 of the size of the UK, so for simplicity, let’s just call it half.

UK GDP = 2.678 trillion USD (2013)  
Half UK GDP = 1.339 trillion USD (2013)

If only. Still, it is the reverse of the situation of the EU, where the refugee crisis is convincing Brits that they would be better off out than in. Meanwhile, after 5+ decades, the US is normalizing relations with a roughly 1/2 UK-sized country 50 miles from its border. In the Caribbean. See what I mean?
