Given the right argument, a large number of supposedly decent people will gleefully impose harm on other people who are different or weaker. This has been a standard truth in human history. ---

People comment viciously. On comments sections. Sometimes they are encouraged, or provoked by trolls and robots. I see a numbing effect after time passes by, where we are less involved in these things, and understand that we are being provoked, and stop engaging. I’m guessing it will have an arc, a little like the credibility polls of donald, or his favorite tv network. ---

Basically there are three kinds of people. Those who don’t want to throw anybody overboard. Folks who don’t mind throwing somebody overboard, but just don’t want to hear the splash. Folks who delight in both the throwing overboard _and_ hearing the splash. We’re talking about the third kind here. ---
