The Extended Stay Motel on Colfax is nice.
I kid! I kid!
I lived in the far west of Lakewood almost 25 yrs ago now. Worked in the Cinderella City area (not AT the park, thank you) RTD worked well for me when I didn’t feel like driving and parking. Not sure what it’s like now with so many more people.
Dining/Entertainment was always a YMMV to me. What one person raves about, another rants. Even at that, I would likely never go back to Casa Bonita. Ask around for the local Hole-in-the-Wall, tho. Some were so good, I would consider marrying in to the family.
Micro-brews. Some of them are affiliated with some decent restaurants.
Fun places to visit were Boulder, Morrison (dinosaurs!*), and just about any small town on the way into the mountains. I liked Evergreen, for one. Red Rocks rocks, as does most of Lo-Do.
I preferred my time living in LaPort/Ft Collins in the mid 2000s. Denver traffic sucks! But, you give up something to gain elsewhere.
OMAHA!
*among other cool things, but not on a spaceship, sadly
