I would build a gigantic, modern, Bauhaus/FLW-style house right here in Brown County in southern Indiana. Part of the house would be a large underground “earthship.” The rest of the money would mostly be spent on classic four-wheel-drives. Only vintage - no vehicles made after 1980. Well, I would hire a housekeeper paying them a living wage at least, hubby can’t do it all anymore anyway. I would get him or her a car. I would also buy the house next door for them to live in. It is going to be for sale later this year. I would get a car for the housekeeper so she could do the shopping and we would have fresh produce every day. I would also hire tutors for my children. I would also install an elevator in the house and spend time fixing our house up right. I already do some things that are considered conspicuous consumption by my family, like buying bean coffee and grinding it fresh for each pot, buying really nice chocolate and real maple syrup, and several other small things that make my mother roll her eyes and go La-ti-dah.
