Did you look in your states constitution? Because that is what the term is referring to. In many states the Office of Sheriff is created and regulated by the state constitution.

That’s not what the constitutional sheriff movement is about.

The OP stated they looked in the constitution regarding Sheriffs and I mearly asked which constitution they looked in.

If no state constitution created the office of Sheriff and it were just a position created by statute the overall idea of a constitutional Sheriff would probably never be. The idea had to of started somewhere.

No wacky ideas or delusions of grandeur, just the boring professional process of collecting property taxes, vehicle taxes, sales taxes, etc.
