# Contact people for US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan

Does anyone know who one would contact to get a list of soldiers from a particular state to become a pen-pal with one or more, for the purpose of supporting them?

That’s going to be tricky. Most of the time, records are kept of where the soldier’s unit is from, not where the individual soldier is from.

What you might do is contact the family support representative of the National Guard/Air National Guard for your state. They often know of people who would welcome a pen pal. If nothing else, they may have an idea of where you can try next, such as a website.
