It just occurred to me that Saints Row 4 has a similar set of superpowers. Control has more ambience, though.
The sequel was just teased with a trailer.
Control: Resonant
Is it a PS5 exclusive now? FUCK THAT NOISE.
I love Control to death, but I have to say that trailer did not get me particularly excited for the sequel, sadly ![]()
Crap, did not see that. I bet it will hit PC and other systems a year or so later. Terrible decision. Was the original exclusive for awhile?
Just checked. No.

Control Resonant is planned for a 2026 release on Mac, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
Not only is it not PS5 exclusive, people were happy to see it would be on Steam since the same studio had teamed up with Epic for Alan Wake 2 and that’s probably forever an Epic Exclusive on PC.
Oh good! I don’t understand why the trailer is only PS5 branded, but whatever.
It depends who was hosting the trailer you saw. This one, from Remedy’s YouTube channel, lists all the platforms it’ll be released on at the end. This one, from the Playstation 5 YouTube channel, only shows PS5 on the end slide. It’s the same for all the other platforms. Xbox’s YouTube channel has a version that only shows Xbox at the end, Steam has a version that only shows Steam at the end, and so forth.
It’s just various platforms not wanting to host an ad for a competitor.
Ah, I see. I had just googled it and clicked the first link I saw without paying much attention.*
*(The story of America in the 21st century)
Hopefully it has a better save system than the original control, which I found to be incredibly buggy. Unplayable, in fact, in that my save games kept failing to work. Triggers wouldn’t happen and I would be unable to continue the story. Super frustrating.
Never had save issues on Xbox, I wonder if it was a platform-specific issue.
If you just play through normally, it works well enough. But if you want to restore a backup to an earlier part of your playthrough the game really does not like it. Story triggers stop working.
It’s especially bad if you start a new game after beating the game. I tried and tried but was fully unable to revert the game to a state as if I’d never played it before. So I just had to start a new game. But then if you revert to an earlier part of your game in that situation, it’s not just that the triggers stop firing. It forgets that you started a new game and everything is unlocked, just like the completed game before you started a new one. Super frustrating.
I was playing on PC through steam.
