I have an iMac (“mid-2010”), OS X 10.11.6…its “Magic” bluetooth keyboard crapped out so I am using an older Apple USB keyboard (A1048) with it.

Is there any way to map some key combinations to control the display brightness (a functionality that was built into the original wireless keyboard’s F1-F2 function keys?)

A possible solution [here](https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/264129/how-to-map-function-key-f1-f12-to-perform-like-they-do-with-builtin-keyboard-o).
