I found this interesting and although it’s not an encounter I thought I’d leave it here anyway: [In America, more preschoolers are shot dead each year (82 in 2013) than police officers are in the line of duty (27 in 2013), according to figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FBI.](http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/04/opinion/sunday/nicholas-kristof-a-new-way-to-tackle-gun-deaths.html?_r=0) I guess it should go in “stupid gun news of the day…” too. ---

Because of video, this encounter isn’t that controversial. Hard to believe that cop, even after the insane man shoots him, shoots a cop in the heart, the cop is still trying to not have to kill the perp. It’s shame cops aren’t allowed to shoot you anywhere but the center of mass. That crazy dude could have been saved, with few rounds to the legs.
