> White guy blocks the driveway into Dr. Dre’s house in Malibu. Dr. Dre gets out of his car to confront the guy. They get into an argument, but the white guy moved his car. Dr. Dre pulls into his driveway, white guy pulls his car back to block the driveway again. More confrontation. Dr. Dre pulls out his phone to record the incident. White guy calls the cops claiming Dr. Dre pulled a gun on him. Wow. That is an awful story. As badly written.

Racist white guy? Nothing presented points to racism. Guy could have been an equal opportunity asshole.

Does the writer know what citizen’s arrest means?

Lot’s of bias in that story.

…ya know, if you’ve been on the internet for a while you would know that sites like “addicting info” aren’t always the best of cites. But it takes less than a second to highlight and search for news stories on “Dr Dre” to find versions of the story that you might find more palatable. Regarding the citizens arrest:

> [@](#):
>
> The motorist, however, insisted that Dr Dre threatened him and pursued a citizen’s arrest, which is allowed under California law when a private individual witnesses a crime.
>
> The sheriff’s department said it gave Dr Dre a citation in connection with the citizen’s arrest but did not take any further action.

Do you know what a citizens arrest is under California law?

You know, even if you’re inclined to believe that black people are being treated unfairly by police and arrested on bogus charges, the idea of Dr. Dre pulling a gun on someone _really_ isn’t that far-fetched.

Aye; a lot of the public already “knows” that the cops are all on one side and it’s not ours. This could help break that into the open so we can start to deal with it (as well as dealing with the people involved int his one incident, if there is sufficient evidence to charge them with a crime).

Wow.

Well, if jail staff are going to respond to the bipartisan (but more Democratic) call to reduce our prison population, they might as well start with the deadbeat dads.

(Apologies for the attempt at humor about this serious incident.)

An allegedly abusive cop who claims to be a whistleblower, who has no evidence to back up his allegations and who is contradicted by those to whom he supposedly made the claim - you take that at face value. A cop who was neither dirty nor abusive, whose testimony is backed up by mountains of evidence - you claim he is lying.

The take home message is that you will believe anything, providing it tells you what you already believe.

Or, the cop decided to escalate the situation and arrest her for being uppity (smoking a cigarette in her car, IIRC). Then he had to figure out a charge(s). This may or may not be the case here, since the “whistleblower” has his own issues that undermine his credibility.

Although, I know you would find a situation like a bogus arrest of a black person inconceivable.

That is an _extraordinarily_ generous interpretation of the officer’s comments.

Remember, Smapti is pure Lawful Neutral. The LAW and the LAW ENFORCERS are always right and there are zero moral considerations and zero ambiguity. Whether the situation and the actors are good or evil doesn’t matter. The cops are always the good guys and the people they’re dealing with are always the bad guys.

That’s what sticking out to me. Because since the flakes _were_ sugar, that means the officers in question either lied flat out… or they had meth fingers themselves.
