Cool, so is that the new police policy that you are advocating? If you can dig up a rap sheet on someone, it’s open season on them? Or are you saying that it is only okay if the officer is black too?

Okay, I’m convinced – his summary execution by the police without posing an imminent threat to anyone (according to the video) was the right thing to do based on the accusations of another person that were later withdrawn.

What other black people with accusations would you like to have executed? I’m sure there are lots of public records you could go through to find out which ones deserve to die.

As far as **Starving Artist** rationalizations for stupid arguments go, this one at least has the virtue of being relatively recent.

I’m just surprised that he didn’t justify the shooting by pointing out that black people were more polite in the fifties.

Hey, there’s a guy down the road who always leaves his fucking garbage cans out, long after the truck has been by. If it’s windy the cans roll out on the road and I have to drive around them. I can PM you his exact address if you could send some of your po-leese homies over to bushwhack the mother fucker.

ETA: seriously, he’s bad news. A couple times he didn’t shovel his walk and he leaves his xmas lights out way too long. April, one year!!!

This reminds me of who I would call my step-grandmother. I once used the n-word to describe how some racists spout off. She took offense at overhearing me use the n-word, because in the 1950’s west Pennsylvania county she grew up in–they never had any race problems!

And this was said with a totally straight face. I’m just surprised she didn’t launch into a tirade (and everything is a tirade with her) about how Obama caused racism in the country.

Because, ya know, he’s half black!

As long as they know their place, it’s all cool. Step out and they get shot for being black.

Scott’s record shows a predilection for violence, for threatening behavior, for gun possession and a willingness to use it. Any or all of which may have come into play and been responsible for his getting shot, especially since he was physically resisting. And even moreso had a background check revealed some of this information beforehand and alerted the cops to the fact Scott could be violent and in possession of a gun.

And no, **iiandyiiii** , his wife did not withdraw her accusations. How do you have the nerve to come up with such nonsense? She merely claimed he was no longer a threat (i.e., the family still needed his paycheck most likely). He was still a child and wife beater, former attempted murderer, self-proclaimed killer, and felon in possession of a firearm. As such, and combined with his refusal to cooperate with the police with his wife yelling in the background _“Don’t do it, Keith! Don’t you do it!”_, there’s very good reason to believe he was armed and a potential threat, a threat that became real at some point after they’d drug him out of the car. He appeared to go for or toward a gun would be my guess, but contrary to yet another one of **iiandyiiii’s** lies, the video is inconclusive.

We do know that the underlying cause of the Charlotte riots (i.e., racist cop shootings of black men) was likely non-existent in this case (and truth be told in many others as well, albeit not all) as the cop who shot Scott was black himself.

So, violent, threatening, gun-toting, uncooperative and physically resisting subject minus racial motive = justifiable homicide.

Sorry kids, but out here in the real world where people have their feet on the ground and their heads out of the clouds, this is how things work. The media has things whipped up momentarily and the result will be that some cops will be killed who shouldn’t be, and people will be harmed and killed in riots who shouldn’t be, and relations between the two races will become even more strained, and then media attention will die down and real world realities will once again assert themselves and non-complying bad guys who behave in threatening ways will get beaten up or shot, and those who are smart enough to realize that no one ever comes out ahead by resisting or fighting with the cops and simply complies, will find themselves still unbruised and still breathing.

Compliance, people! Compliance!

It’s the answer and will result in far fewer black (and white for that matter) deaths than will ever result from your insistence that cops are never justified in shooting unless they’ve been shot first themselves (and even then I have no doubt the likes of you will be whinging that the cops’ wounds weren’t fatal but the bad guys’ were and so the cops were deliberately racist and murderous in pointing their weapons).

Why is it that social change is always driven by hysterical morons angrily insisting 2+2=5 and anyone who disagrees is some form of evil?

Your _ad hominem_ attack on the deceased is shameful and irrelevant. I doubt you have the capacity to be ashamed of your behavior, tho, miscreant that you are.

Here’s some more miscreancy for you too.

In 2004 Scott stabbed his wife multiple times and almost punctured her lungs.

And something not reported in the article I linked to above, he threatened to kill his family the night before he was shot.

Something also not reported before is that plain clothes officers spotted him with pot and a gun and left to put on bullet proof vests identifying them as police officers before coming back to approach Scott, which also lends credence to the question of whether he was armed.

[Cite](http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/09/27/charlotte-man-shot-by-police-claimed-was-killer-wife-said-in-court-records.html)

Normally things like child-beating and wife-beating (and even worse, power imbalance), are enough to send you people into fits of apoplexy. And yet here we have a guy who’s done all that plus shot someone, and I’m a villain for bringing it up to give context as to how he might have been acting toward the cops?

I suspect the one remaining form of criminality you may not be willing to excuse him for involves sex. Previously I’d have thought you’d all be cheering his death had he sexually abused his children and wife but now I’m not so sure. So how about it? Does aversion to racism (even if non-existent in the first place, as in this case) trump even the dreaded “S” word when it comes to excusing abominable behavior? If sex had been involved in his previous crimes against his wife and children would you people be so quick to ignore it and call me names for bringing it up?

Yes, you’ve made it clear that black people who have done bad things before should be executed. There’s no evidence in the video he was resisting or posed an imminent threat, but according to your criteria of “black man having been accused of bad things in the past”, the police were justified in killing him.

Please show us some other black men who deserve to be shot for things they’ve done in the past. Maybe this policy could really save the country money on incarceration costs! Should we kill all the black men in prison? It could even save money on things like trials! Why bother with a trial when a black man has been accused of something bad? Just shoot him and move on, right?

I do like how you not only managed to slander a dead man, but his living and grieving wife (who “just needed the paycheck”) too. Well done! Maybe you have some terrible things you could say about their children as well?

Why do we even let people out of prison then? Shouldn’t we just set up a shooting range outside? When people get out, the police can get their firearms training, and we eliminate some "bad dude"s at the same time.

I’m glad to see that you’ve taken such a progressive approach to understanding domestic and sexual violence! I think you’re absolutely right about this.

Now, I assume you’re this understanding and committed to believing the victims, and to holding responsible parties accountable even in different contexts, in other abuse cases, right? High profile ones? I don’t follow these boards much, but you’re not clownishly associated around here with dismissing credible abuse-related complaints against anyone famous on the grounds that they weren’t proven in a court of law. Right?

What would be the odds.

High profile ones? I don’t follow these boards much, but you’re not clownishly associated around here with dismissing credible abuse-related complaints against anyone famous on the grounds that they weren’t proven in a court of law. Right?

I’m like 95% sure he’s not capable of understanding your point.

Gonna take a ‘wait and see’ on this. See if video surfaces and there was actually a ‘shooting stance’ which might indicate ‘suicide by cop’. There are conflicting reports of what the man actually did. Which is to be expected, I guess.
