It’s going to be hard to get a conviction. The officer was responding to a drive-by shooting, and the evidence appears to be fairly strong in that one of the occupants of the vehicle was involved. For the record, I don’t think shooting was justified, but this is not a case of someone running from a traffic stop because there’s a bench warrant for his arrest or because he’s driving with a suspended license. The officer, apparently with good reason, had evidence that one or more of the occupants of the vehicle fleeing on foot had been involved in a violent crime. It’s sad what happened to Rose, and I hope that a jury will hear the case without prejudice and render what they feel is a fair verdict based on the facts of the case. Rose seemed like a good kid who may have picked the wrong friends to hang with. ---

Video has surfaced of a reported Lancaster, Pennsylvania, police officer **tasering a man who is unarmed and complying to the best of anyone’s abilities** with the thug officer’s demands. According to the Associated Press, officers were responding to calls that a man was “confronting people with a bat.” **Whether or not this is the same man** , a few things are very clear:\*\* he is sitting on the floor complying, he clearly does not have a bat, and you can hear more police arriving.\*\*In the video the officer is training the taser on the man, telling him to put his arms and legs straight forward. You can clearly hear the cop say “legs straight out,” followed by another police officer—off camera—SCREAMING for him to cross them. **He crosses his legs, they taser him**. As they are tasering him, another SUV filled with police officers arrives. The man, now brutalized, continues to comply.
