The police were there doing a “welfare check”. If I had concerns for someones wellbeing, the police are the last people on my call-list. ---

Modern U.S. police are good at ensuring that people who need to be shot, get shot. The problem is that there are quite a few people who don’t need to be shot, that nevertheless resemble people that do, and modern police aren’t incentivized to take the time to tell the difference. ---
