Convince me to switch to Android and give up my iPhone

How is this accomplished on an iPhone? I’m surprised it could be that much different, and this is exactly the sort of detail I need to know. I’m in the same uncertain territory of having an imminent upgrade opportunity, but thinking of going from Android to iOS.

On Android, if you are in lowercase mode, the entire keyboard is displayed in lowercase. And vice versa. iOS keyboard always displays uppercase.

The iOS keyboard doesn’t display the case of letter you are typing? Wow. Somebody must have thought that was a good idea at some point

I hate my family, so you’re welcome to them!

Is the Android voice command feature localized to the phone? One thing I HATE HATE HATE about Siri is that it always uses the internet. So, if I’m driving in a bad cell phone area and want to use voice command to call someone, I’m SOL.

I can search my contacts by voice with the phone in airplane mode, so yes it does work to find contacts without data or phone service. An iPhone won’t?

My iOS experience is limited to a 4th gen iPod with iOS 6 (so maybe my complaint is no longer valid) but I have two identical Logitech bluetooth speakers, one at home and one at work. With my Android phone, I can rename each device on the screen I connect to devices at, so one is is listed as “Logitech work” and the other “Logitech home”. I simply select the one I want, although in most cases it will simply connect to the one that is within range. On the iPod, I can’t change the name, both are listed as “Logitech speaker” and it won’t automatically connect to the speaker in range. I then have to decide which of two identically labeled options is the right one. Editing device names seems like an obvious feature to have, but not on the Apple device.

Provided your mobile network connection is good enough at the time and place where you want to access your music.

Every commercial for a service provider these days seems to show people streaming video when they’re out and about. “Yeah, right”, I snort to myself, as I continue downloading a podcast to listen to while I go out grocery shopping. And that’s audio content, never mind video.

There’s still no substitute for having the music in your pocket.

If he means that the virtual keyboard is always shown in upper case, but typed letters, such as when you are typing in a case sensitive password, are shown in the proper case, then I could live with that.

Yes they are. Also, the shift key changes fill colour from white (lower case) to black (upper case).

I live in regional Victoria, Australia. We have dodgy coverage around here. I use Google music to stream to my phone when I’m in the car and it almost never misses a beat. For those rare occasions when it doesn’t work, I have “pinned” some songs to my phone so I can still access them anywhere. I didn’t think our mobile network or coverage was anywhere good enough to stream music on the go, but it is.
