Imagine working on that set, seeing all the money that was poured into being on location, the unpleasantness of working in 120 degree heat… and listening to John Wayne deliver his lines like that! Did they think everyone was gonna love it? Genghis Khan… played by a white man on screen; that’s a bad idea. Maybe not insurmountable by itself, but… played by John Wayne? That’s a really bad idea. Played by John Wayne when he’s not even TRYING to do anything but his usual drawl? Recipe for disaster! I still think Bratz Babyz is way worse, but The Conqueror is a special kind of Hollywood Bad. I haven’t seen Oogieloves, and I don’t doubt that it is terrible, but I don’t think it can truly compete with Bratz Babyz. I know I’m going to suffer later for this, but, for me at least, in it is the truth. Worst film(s) ever? _Lord of the Rings_, all three of them. OMG, what inane, pointless drivel. Have I mentioned that I hate and abhor J.R.R. Tolkien? Second worst movie of all time? _Avatar_. Yeah, yeah, I know, supposedly glorious computer graphics and all that – bah! Stupid story all dressed up with nowhere to go. Just remember, Skald, you said we could ignore Rule 4. I’m ignoring it. ---

Spanglish > It’s one of those insufferable films in which spoiled rich white people learn a valuable lesson from the fountains of homespun wisdom that are the dark complected people who serve them. Even worse, that lesson was something vaguely like: “Don’t let a wealthy benefactor pay for your child’s education, because then she might start acting white.” It wasn’t so bad it was good. It was just incredibly boring and dreary. A lot of the movies on “Worst Movies of All Time” lists had very restrictive budget limitations. They spent 80,000,000 dollars to make this piece of shit suburban dramedy starring Adam Sandler and a bunch of nobodies. ---
