I love Oreos, but my nephew is one of those who lost his job in Chicago because of the move to Mexico. So I haven’t been able to buy a package since I heard. Although I guess I could buy them while he still has his job. I guess I have a very flexible conscience. Anyway, I like regular and double stuffed Oreos. I liked Uh-Ohs, with the vanilla cookie and chocolate cream, and I even will eat the ones with one vanilla cookie and one chocolate cookie. But the rest of the favors? Nope. Don’t want them. ---

This reminds me of Jim Gaffigan’s Hot Pockets discussion about all their newfangled varieties: pot pie-flavored hot pockets and the like. His idea was the hot pocket-flavored hot pocket: “it tastes just like a hot pocket.” ---

Personally, I don’t understand the appeal of “cookies and creme flavor” to begin with. I love cookies and creme ice cream, but that’s all about the texture: The cookie chunks soaked in the dairy mixture and frozen get that lovely firm-but-yielding quality to them. If you’re not getting that, then what’s the point? Just call it “chocolate”. ---
