I was wondering if it would be possible to play a noise on such frequency or volume that it could cook food? On the speed of sound = speed of light thread I created it was stated that any source of noise would set our world on fire by the air friction. Would it be possible to achieve something like that on normal physics?

(Gist: part of the reason the temperature of the Sun’s corona is higher than predicted is because of sound energy.)

> Thermoacoustic engines (sometimes called "TA engines") are thermoacoustic devices which use high-amplitude sound waves to pump heat from one place to another (this requires work, which is provided by the loudspeaker) or use a heat difference to produce work in the form of sound waves (these waves can then be converted into electrical current the same way as a microphone does).

No idea if the heat pumped could realistically “cook” something as opposed to just warming it.
