There are two things I have a weekness for:
1 - Virtual worlds
2 - Free things.

I was in the computer store on Saturday, just poking around. I was looking at one of those 3D House Design programs. It looked really cool. Not being in the market for building a house, I figured it was a little expensive for me to buy it so I could “play”.

So I did what any self-respecting cheapskate would do – I looked for a free/share-ware program on the web. What I found was something called [Design Workshop Lite](http://www.greatbuildings.com/cgi-bin/link?http://www.artifice.com/dw_lite.html). It looks like a dificult to master program, but being free, I downloaded it.

The cool thing is that site includes a link to a page where you can download a whole pant-load of 3D models for walkthroughs. One of which was the [World Trade Center Towers and Plaza](http://www.greatbuildings.com/buildings/World_Trade_Center.html).

It’s not overwhelming realistic, but as far as I can tell, relatively accurate. It is a very interesting retrospect kind of thing. It gave me a little better perspective what is now missing.

Just thought I’d point it out.

Carry on.
