Cool gadgets or tools you use that have a very specific purpose

Got to have one of Brownell’s Gizzys:

Dennis

Timberline Chainsaw Sharpener. I haven’t cut any wood since I sharpened my chain with it because it’s been so hot and buggy. It definitely passes the visual and run my finger over it tests of sharpness! Based on reviews online I think it’s going to be great. It’s kind of pricey but it is a very high quality item, nicely machined from aluminum. When I first took it out of the box it reminded me of some fancy climbing gear. Easy to use without removing chain from saw. They have videos on YT and on their site.

Got a cite?
I have heard many myths about riding and damage to O-rings, but never have I heard that cleaning it with a brush in accordance with the user manual’s instructions would damage the chain.

That’s just it. I have two pieces that have holes in them, and I didn’t see any way to change them without removing half a dozen undamaged pieces.

I’ve got the pineapple corer and cherry pitter. I’ve never seen the plum pitter, but it looks like it’s too small for the plums we get.

Outside of the kitchen, I have several sizes of bias tape makers.

Works very well, actually. If there are ends sticking out on one side, then when you flip the bacon, you put the press over them. I can do up to six slices with mine.

Another great tool. Never have a lump in your mashed potatoes again.

A hand-cranked apple peeler that looks something like this. Mine is over a century old. It still works quite well, though I seldom use it. It has no value as an antique because my dad lent it to one of his idiot friends back in the 70s. Said idiot managed to break it. Luckily said idiot had a brother who was a skilled welder. He brazed the damaged parts well enough that it still works, but it has no cash value.
