# Cool names for a new band

There’s a thread in Cecil’s columns called “My bad croc tears.” If I were a musician, looking for a good name for a band, I’d say “YES…, yes…, yes…, that’s… the… one!”

What’s your nomination for a fine name for a band, or a name for a fine band, among the thread titles in recent times?

Recently there was an article about Afghani Muslims wanting to go to Mecca, but there was no room on the planes so they stoned the Afghani Minister of Tourism to death. The mob was described as:

              DISGRUNTLED PILGRIMS

```

It just cracked me up, and I decided if I ever had a band, there’s the name.

I know a guy who’s in a band and is looking for a new name. The big joke lately is that he should change the name to **BUTTOX**.

Don’t know why, but gets us laughin’ every time.

I once heard on a radio program that the band that played the funky synthesized music in the background of a porno movie was called “Rock Hard”.

That still cracks me up. Even if it’s NOT true.

Since it appears I’ll never have a band, I will allow you to use the greatest band name ever: Umlaut.

The band’s logo would be either a.) simply an umlaut or b.) the word “umlaut” with umlauts over each vowel.

It just rolls off the tongue…umlaut.

I hope it’s not already taken by someone.
