Some of the best looking NASA themed wallpaper I’ve ever seen can be found [here.](http://cph.ing.dk/tema/iss/aktiviteter/iss-tapeter.html) “To slip the surly bonds of Earth” indeed.

My wallpaper is currently the moonrise over the earth photographed from the last mission of Columbia. It’s both haunting and beautiful, really. I tried to find it online to post a link, but couldn’t find it.

I get my pics at [Astronomy Picture of the Day](http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html).

I also use APOD, and the (Nowegian, was it?) site is cool.

I’ve been collecting most of my wallpaper images directly from the horse’s gallery for some time now - [NASA Human Space Flight Gallery search](http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/index.html)

And **Czech** - would that be [THIS PIC](http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/shuttle/sts-107/html/s107e05697.html)? (from the above NASA gallery site)

I use hubble pictures.

It’s still hard to believe that such beauty is just floating out there in space.

That photo, _alone_, IMHO, justifies every dime NASA gets. Forget that it was taken from _Columbia_, for the moment, and just look at it. Totally stunning.

I’ve got one called ‘earthlights\_dmsp\_big.jpg’ that’s a composite of night shots from the shuttle, showing city lights all over the world. I was sure it was from NASA, but Google only finds copies elsewhere. They’re all quite a bit smaller than the original (2400x1200).

That would be the one.

[_Voila!_](http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0011/earthlights_dmsp_big.jpg)

That was my wallpaper for a while. Now I have [_The Fabric of Space_](http://www.gregmort.com/fabricofspace_disp.html).

What is the deal, anyway, with space themes and PC wallpaper? We’re all in cyber_space_, is that it?
