I’ve always been fond of establishments with a person’s ame in the title. To me it conveys a friendly place (yeah, I’m a sucker for advertising). Anyhow, that said, the only thing I could think of is: **Homer’s Bistro** _on the Spit_ ---

Well, as the guy who’s going to work for you, my votes are for: Ice and Fire Bistro (we could make up a cool logo with a glacier and a volcano, salad and a rack of ribs) Bistro on the Bay (who doesn’t like alliteration) And I’d personally shy away from anything to kitsch/carnival as much as I’d shy away from something to pretentious. And I don’t think Bistro is pretentious. Or we could just call it 90.608 😉 ---

There’s a place round here (I think it’s a chain) called _Ta Bouche_, which if memory serves, is French for “your mouth”. Charming. I liked **featherlou** ’s _Baked Alaska_ - wish I’d thought of that. How about _Go With The Floe_? Ouch, no, maybe not. _Salmon’s Rest_? If you’re going to be a bit more interesting or a bit fresher than the rest, how about _A Cut Above_? Actually, I quite liked _Sector 56_. Geek. ---

I’m a big fan of **Johnny L.A.**'s _Caldera_. But I’m honor bound to enter my vote, which would be for _Prometheus’s Spark_. Getcher mythology, incorporates a little of the location, and implies that which allows us to cook in the first place. All in one name. Huzzah! ---

If you’re going the chiken wings and ribs route, how about: **The Spit Pit** You could name it **The Gull’s Nest** after that rarest of avian visitors. Or **The Sandpiper**. How 'bout **Beachcomer**? **Setnet Cafe** (maybe too obscure for tourists, but the decor would be easy). ---

Pity you’re not a coffee shop, then you could be **Lava and Java** or _Joes and Floes_. Going for the Greek myth tie-in: _Ambrosia_, the food of the gods…ties in Homer with food…sort of. The Ambrosia Grill/Cafe/Bistro sounds pretty good. I like \*Boardwalk Bistro \*, \*Fire and Ice \*, _Spit-fire Grill_ or something with 56 (_Bistro Fifty-six_, _Cafe Fifty-six_, or you could be really trendy and just call it “ **56** ”). IMHO a good restaurant will get past an awful name- if the atmosphere is good, the menu exciting and value for money and the food is good and the service friendly you could call it “Spitty’s Shack on the Spit” and it would still do really well. ---
