I was going through my wallet today and found two things: My ‘International Queen Fan Club’ membership card from 1984. My ‘The Elongated Collectors’ Membership card from 2001. We collect squished pennies, for the uninitiated. Truly, things that will make me distinctive when the volcano gets me and all that’s left is a hollow in the ash with my form and wallet. ---

Nothing of interest in either my wallet or my purse. Just like my life. Dull. Boring. Utilitarian. \ Well, there is the photo of Wendell - he was our cat just after we got married. But he’s dead now. I don’t have a photo of my husband in there, but I have a picture of a dead cat. Is that cool? ---

I have five valid library cards from five different libraries in my wallet. That’s about as cool as I can stand without my head exploding. ---

I have a small dog-eared piece of card indicating that I am a 2002/3 member of the Oldham Athletic Supporters In the South (OASIS). I also have a Mastercard that contributes money to Oldham Athletic when I use it. After today’s performance, mind, I plan to replace it this week. ---

My late grandmother’s signed name on a small piece of card. She wrote it down when she was 10, so it’s from about 1929. An expired membership card to “The Curry Club.” Identification and library cards to about four different universities (in three countries!) A “player’s club” card to the Mirage casino in Vegas. Two fortune-cookie fortunes, which both read “Honour is much dearer than money.” And, usually, money from the US, Canada and the UK. ---

Hmm… I dunno if anything I have can be called “cool”. I do have my miniature pelvic bone/hip socket keychain; you can really rotate the ball and socket. In my wallet, I have about 30 or 40 fortunes from Chinese fortune cookies. I have a piece of paper folded up that has how to say “I can eat glass; it doesn’t hurt me” (thanks to that webpage) in German, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese. I have another piece of paper that has my name in Hebrew written down (given to me by a classmate from Israel). OOH, I have my 5th grade bus pass from grade school! That’s my pride and joy, and is gonna be in every single wallet I have until I die. ---

Not that this is all that cool, but I have a lighter in the shape of a small hammer in my purse. I like having it on nights that I go out - that way if someone steals my lighter, I will know it is mine! ---

I have the receipt from the first time I went to the adult bookstore on my eighteenth birthday. I also have a recipt from Wal-mart from some Trojan spermicidal condoms. Why? Because it says that I bought “TROJAN SPERM”. A classic. ---

I still have my card that states that I’m a Kinder Kid at KinderCare from June 1989. It’s basically, “Since you’ll be in first grade soon, you don’t have to take a nap with the little kids”. We also got to help pass out snacks. ---

I actually had to LOOK in my wallet to answer this one. I’d have to say it’s a tossup between my membership card for the Society of Broadcast Engineers and my Harley Owners Group card. The HOG card this year has a really, really neat holographic logo smach in the middle. Although, the Home Depot Commercial Account card is pretty handy - but maybe not that interesting.
