Butch Cassidy or Bullit?
Cool Hand Luke or The Cooler King?
Real Race Car Driver and Philanthropist or Fake Race Car Driver and Misogynist?
I don’t know how to make a poll, so have at it! Any other submissions will be little noted nor long regarded.
I say Steve, simply because he seemed to get beat up less, and stymied the Nazis, at least for a little while.
This thread inspired by a Drive-By Trucker song.

McQueen was actually a race car driver as well as a fake one. Granted, his racing career isn’t as illustrious as Newman’s, but he did race cars.
ETA: yeah, McQueen is way cooler.

Paul Newman. Not only was he cooler, he was a better actor.
ETA: Newman was so cool he made Robert Redford only the second coolest guy in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”.
And Robert Redford is cooler than Steve McQueen.

Steve was the epi-tome of coolness. Sorry, Paul.
And McQueen was a real racer. Though more in motorcycles than cars.
And Le Mans is a better movie than Winning.
Can’t speak to the way either one treated people in real life. Never knew either. 🙂

McQueen by a nose. Dying young helps.
Newman was a better actor and seemingly a better person, but his persona can’t match McQueen.
