What are the wing-like things on both sides of the tall black furry hats of the palace guard? Never noticed them before. Some are red, some are yellow, and some hats seem to have none at all. Some sort of rank insignia, I assume. ---

Though, I’m pretty sure I saw yellow ‘hackles’ on the bearskins, but yellow is not on the list. Maybe they were actually a different color and it was a trick of the light. ---

Charles and Camilla are doing full, from the elbow waves. I thought the proper royal wave, popularized by his mum, was “arm stationary and rotate upraised hand back and forth at about a 30 degree interval”. ---
