There was a story on the local news that some restaurants are adding car hop service. I guess we’re going back to the '50’s with drive-in movies and dining. Anyone know how Sonic restaurants are doing with all this? It seems like it’d be a prime place to go if the family wanted to eat out since it’s designed around customers staying in their cars. ---

Today in Austria: [ul] [li] After having fallen to nearly 0.5 in mid-April, the **coronavirus reproduction number** in Vienna has risen back up to nearly 1. No word yet from the state or federal governments on whether/how this will effect the planned relaxation in the lockdown measures.[/li] [li] The traditional **May Day marches** and demonstrations were significantly scaled back, with the holiday’s largest traditional participant, the Social Democratic Party of Austria, opting instead for virtual events and televised speeches. Still, plenty of smaller left-wing groups were out in force in the capital today. I walked past City Hall this afternoon and there were probably one or two thousand demonstrators there. The square had markers spray-painted every one metre in order to allow protestors to keep their distance from one another, but the crowd was thin enough that nobody was using them. (By contrast, estimates of the crowd at last year’s demo ranged from 12,000 to 120,000.)[/li] [li] Meanwhile, elsewhere in Vienna, **anti-lockdown demonstrations** took place. I didn’t observe any of these myself, though newspapers report there were about 400 people in attendance, including members of the Identitarian movement, neo-Nazis, and a quack physician, Christian Fiala, who told the crowd that there was no medical reason to fear the virus and no reason to practise social distancing. You can make your own drive-ins with a video projector and a sheet or garage door. I’d be interested to know whether or not they were actually behind it (and if so, how high up the commission came from). ---

I think it is extremely likely that the virus is kept in a Chinese lab - in fact I would be amazed if it wasn’t - otherwise it would be impossible to carry out research. I would also expect that most countries carrying out research will also have the virus in their research labs - I wonder if the orange one has somehow conflated research labs and virus storage. ---
