Don’t worry, they’re get there.

Which is a very sad statement to make.

Fortunately, about half the reason is that the US daily death counts have been on a steady decline, after accounting for the weekend effect, that is. But the US’s number of new cases actually went up those three days, yet Brazil still had more.

Say WHAT?!?

"A group of monkeys in India swiped blood samples from coronavirus patients from a local medical college, stoking fears they could further the virus’ spread in nearby regions, [Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-india-monkey-idUSKBN2351KV?taid=5ed110b0b4f7010001631c1f&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter) reported on Friday. Before they fled the scene, the monkeys attacked a health worker, according to authorities cited by the outlet.
The incident occurred this week at Meerut Medical College in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The troop of monkeys attacked a laboratory technician who was walking across the campus holding the blood samples before taking the samples for themselves, according to [Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-india-monkey-idUSKBN2351KV?taid=5ed110b0b4f7010001631c1f&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter).
“Monkeys grabbed and fled with the blood samples of four COVID-19 patients who are undergoing treatment,” Dr. S. K. Garg, a top official at the college, told the outlet. “We had to take their blood samples again,” he said. "

Look at the crowding in the slums in the photo way down the page here. But people can’t just sit at home or they’ll starve, so they go out, and the virus spreads. Crowding is more likely the cause than overweight.

Yesterday was the 48th day with no domestic transmissions. The last local infection was on April 12. The new based are returning Taiwanese from overseas or the sailors.

Taijuan is opening up more and more. More and more restrictions are being lifted. Other than the quarantine after returning from overseas, it doesn’t seem like there’s that many restrictions left.

Quickly after came reports of young people dying due to coronavirus-related strokes. Next it was Covid toes — painful red or purple digits.
> What do all of these symptoms have in common? An impairment in blood circulation. Add in the fact that 40% of deaths from Covid-19 are related to cardiovascular complications, and the disease starts to look like a vascular infection instead of a purely respiratory one.

From what I understand, obesity by itself is a factor in getting severe illness and death. It doesn’t matter if you have diabetes or hypertension or some other condition that’s commonly associated with obesity. The obesity is a factor in the severity of the illness; crowding is a factor in how much it spreads.

>
> Also, with no data for if the tests fails at “much more than 14 days”. So at present, you need to have a good record of “when symptoms first developed” to have a reliable test. And also, the test verification showed that 88 out of 88 cases (where symptoms were more than 14 days) were detected. That’s good, but 88 people isn’t a lot.

And I see that when I wrote that, I missed the elephant in the room. The top antibody test on the list, the one with 100% success rate, got the 100% for 88 people tested \>= 14 days after symptoms. _So it’s not validated for people who are asymptomatic_

Yes, but if many thousands more are contracting it due to overcrowding, then many more will die of it, whether or not they’re obese or diabetic or hypertensive.

For some reason, these additional Moscow deaths haven’t shown up in the Worldometer counts. I recall that when China reported a big addition to deaths in Wuhan that they added those. Did they just miss the news?

I don’t follow the Johns Hopkins site. Did they add the Moscow deaths?

Hawaii had three days in a row this week without a new case, then suddenly three new ones a day for three days in a row, all on Oahu. But barbers opened on Oahu yesterday, and I got my first haircut in 2-1/2 months today, although my regular shop is still not open.
