Gavin Newsom has banned all gatherings of more than 250 people. I wonder what that means for the NCAA playoffs in Sacramento and UCLA. They had already announced that there would be no spectators, but I wonder if such events require more than 250 people to put on. * * * Justin Trudeau’s wife is being tested. He has self isolated pending the results of the test. ---

They also instituted more aggressive testing and tracking. Guess what - their rates of infection are lower and slower than in the US. And as a result, their economies are likely to recover quicker, and everyone get back to normal routines sooner. ---

The Atlantic dropped their paywall on these. Here are key points of the main article (which is a short and quick read): 1. It’s here to stay, and you’re unlikely to get long-lasting immunity when (not if) you get it. 2. Even if Pence’s 1.5 million kits are made available, labs still have to train and execute the complex procedure. 3. Plan to telecommute if you’re over 65, have a respiratory disease (including asthma) or cancer or are immune-compromised. 4. Help others who are panicked. “Societies break down when people fear one another as simply bipedal distributors of infectious agents. See people as allies in this unique moment of uncertainty.” 5. If you start feeling ill, you may not be able to get tested. Self-isolate. The other articles are also excellent, but that’s enough for now. ---
