Since the majority of adults in Israel are fully vaccinated, infections are now very skewed toward teenagers. A few weeks ago, only ~ 30% of teenagers were vaccinated. Vaccination of teenagers has increased dramatically to stave off infections of the young. The good news is that infections in adults have been holding off fairly well since the Delta mutant first showed up way back in April. Deaths and hospitalizations remain extremely low because of vaccination and infections skewing young. As I’ve stated in other threads, I predict that parts of the US will likely look like Israel right now. These would be regions that have high vaccination rates and those with moderate rates plus a high % of prior infection. The regions with low vaccination rates that have avoided outbreaks in the past will be hit hard in the next month. By fall, surges will have largely dissipated.
