WOW!
For the first time in it seems like forever, the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus site lists no states with new daily reported COVID case (7-day averaged) record highs from yesterday. None of the states reported record highs for January 24. A couple did for the 23rd. Most states actually reported hitting their record high around January 7, although many only hit their high around last weekend. But today, nothing. That’s the first step showing that the surge is in retreat. Cases in the US are still down from our record high at the beginning of the month.

Where is the map you’re looking at? You mentioned one with blue states before? I’ve found the John’s Hopkins website, but I’m apparently missing the right link to find a simple map instead of a place where I input state names to get numbers.

CBD is the “good” part of marijuana. A lot of conservatives are all for it. Mind you, that will probably vary based on region.

OK. Help me understand what I’m looking at. I see a bunch of states with numbers (below the colored map, which is about 3/5 blue and 2/5 pink for me) of daily increases of exactly 100.0% (Including Illinois, which is just barely pink on the map, and Massachusetts, which is barely blue.) Which makes no sense to me. I assume that is some weird dummy data. Secondly, I see a bunch of states with daily increases of more than 100%, including Arizona at a -270% increase (??!), yet its color on the map is a medium pink. Am I just reading it wrong?

There was a report a while back that the same thing happened in Alabama. Really, it would not surprise me at all if the population of the US as a whole went down the last two years.
