We are going round in circles here. I stand by what I’ve posted, but don’t intend to add anything at this time.

[China Says Wuhan Market not Origin of COVID-19](https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200529/china-says-wuhan-market-not-origin-of-covid-19)

> [@](#):
>
> May 28, 2020 - New research indicates the coronavirus did not originate in a Wuhan seafood market as many scientists have believed, a top Chinese health official said.
>
> But Gao Fu, director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, didn’t say where the virus, which has killed 350,000 people worldwide, came from originally.
>
> He told the state-controlled Global Times this week that further research shows no connections between food sold in Wuhan’s market and the coronavirus.

> [@](#):
>
> A paper published in January in the online medical journal The Lancet also challenged the idea that the market was where COVID-19 originated.
>
> The paper written by Chinese scientists said 13 of the first 41 confirmed cases of coronavirus had no link to the market.
>
> “That’s a big number, 13, with no link,” says Daniel Lucey, an infectious disease specialist at Georgetown University, said in the online magazine Science.

Note: the virus not coming from the market does not necessarily imply that it did come from the lab. But to the extent that your main argument against the lab is that “there’s evidence” that it came from the market, then ruling out the market changes things.

[Rather lengthy and technical article](https://nicholaswade.medium.com/origin-of-covid-following-the-clues-6f03564c038) from Nicholas Wade in which he makes the case that the “lab escape” theory is the more likely of the competing explanations on various technical/scientific grounds.

Also, that the list of people who had reason to cast doubt on this possibility is/was not limited to the Chinese government, but also includes various leading scientists who were involved with funding the bat-coronavirus research at the Wuhan lab, and more generally, much of the scientific community which supports this type of research as a general matter even if not involved with this specific lab.

Before I waste any time actually reading that, is this the same Nicholas Wade who wrote: [A Troublesome Inheritance: Genes, Race, and Human History](https://www.americanscientist.org/article/a-troubling-tome)?

If yes, I’ll pass and just assume that it’s garbage, with a racist slant to boot.

Yes. This is not a nutso theory. But all the investigations have said that is not the case.

There are nutso CT- this is not one of them, but this one is simply wrong.

Same guy. I’ll pass as I think we’ve discussed the various opinions of the “race scientists” of the world more than enough already in the past. So, I’ll stick with the assumption that it is indeed garbage, and likely has a racial tinge to the stink as well.

I wonder what [Charles Murray](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Murray_(political_scientist)) and [Steve Sailer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Sailer) have to say about the origins of COVID. No, actually, I don’t.
