I am amused that people think of lip balm as a cosmetic, because for me it is as essential as deoderant. 🙂 It is the only thing I MUST wear on my face daily.

For work I usually use concealer (if my dark circles are especially bad), a bit of powder, plain or tinted lip balm, and sometimes some light eye makeup. On the rare occasions when I go out I like to get a bit more creative with the full face stuff. I wouldn’t want to do it all the time though, because it does seem to make my decent skin worse.

Thanks to the previous poster who mentioned the YouTube tutorials–there are a ton of useful ones. I like [this guy](http://www.youtube.com/user/gossmakeupartist/feed) especially.

> I voted “don’t wear it at all.” The last time I wore makeup was to a friend’s wedding almost 3 years ago, so I think that’s close enough! It’s just way too much hassle. Put it on in the morning. Take it off in the evening. Buy more when you run out. Plus I don’t like supporting the cosmetics industry, which I feel tries to brainwash women into feeling they’re not beautiful unless they’re wearing makeup. \<rant\> We don’t need makeup to be beautiful, dammit! \</rant\>

I am conflicted about it. I do agree that the cosmetics industry is so full of brainwashing and ridiculous claims. On the other hand, I am amazed at the artistry that some people put into it, and as a creative type I think it’s fun to play around with (and it does lift my mood sometimes). I’m glad I don’t feel a NEED to wear it though.
