# Cost of gasoline vs. diesel

I’d been wondering why diesel fuel is now more expensive than gasoline. I recently heard someone say it’s because the military vehicles are using so much diesel fuel (in Iraq, presumably). Is there any truth to this, and if not, what are the true reasons?
