ok, Cougarfang, coming through… _push, shove, bam, biff, etc. etc. etc._ ha. i stay off the boards a day and an entire THREAD is started about me… and for once, it isn’t started BY me. _preens_ ok, ok, i’ll explain! look, i’m not really a latin scholar or anything, but i have this thing for half-understood languages (as evidenced by my continuous insistence on living in Taiwan instead of moving back to America). i stumbled on [this site](http://w1.871.telia.com/~u87112797/show-off.html) once, and recently, i’ve started thinking about my sig. i like to change my sig a lot, obviously, and so of course i think of this site. i look around, pick some interesting-looking phrases, and kinda “paraphrase” 'em. here’s what they’re supposed to mean, and the original phrases (look 'em up if you like, the site categorizes 'em in alphabetical order according to the first word of every phrase) PS. pardon my grammar, if the latin i have on my sig is bad grammar. i still can’t get the grammar thingies straight… “Cave felis!” you guys got this one right. i paraphrased it from “Cave canem!”, as in, “Beware of the dog!” “Indicit Scylla qui vult vitare Crunchy Frog.” He falls into Scylla’s hands who wants to avoid Crunchy Frog. kinda a reference to the two posters i know best (i.e. the most infamous, IMHO) it was originally “Indicit Scyllam qui vult vitare Charybdin”, or “He falls into Scylla’s hands who wants to avoid Charybdis”. “Difficile est saturam non scribere…” It is hard not to write satire. this is the only one that i took verbatim from the site. **gallows fodder** got it right, actually. _applause_ **Maeglin** , you’re right, but i figured that since i made Charybdin/Charybidis into Crunchy Frog, i may as well make Scyllam to Scylla. besides, the _cough cough_[sub]slightly more ignorant[/sub]_cough cough_ posters around here may not know enough latin to figure it out and THEY’d give me a hard time about THAT (i’m fairly paranoid) i must admit, though, the incorrect attempts to define my sig amused me… 😃 and, to have a thread started about my sig line(s), by **Crunchy Frog** himself, no less, is a great ego boost after a long night of bad hunting… and this is the longest post i’ve ever written up till now. wow. better end this before my keyboard bursts into flame… YOWWWWWWOAWEUHHTAOIRFHUIREPAHWTROPIAUEROPIHWATOPEHTRUIEJHTREOPHEOPAIEW… Error: keyboard melted. ---

Well now I’m kinda bummed out. With **Cougarfang** explaining what the sig line was supposed to mean, I guess this thread will now die. My special relationship with **Scylla** has ended before we ever really had a chance to get started. _sigh_ And I was just starting to like the way **Scylla** used to vult me. I guess we’ll always have Paris. Won’t we, **Scylla**? Promise we we won’t fall out of touch. We can still be friends can’t we **Scylla** , after all those special moments in that cellar, or cave or whatever I thought it was? You’ll always hold a special place for me **Scylla** , you broke my vult cherry. ---
