Umm, has it come back?

Speaking as a Detroiter, I think a RoboCop statue could really help turn things around!

Hopefully, Mayor Bing will reconsider his stance.
According to the Free Press this morning, Bing is not anti-Robocop statue per se, just anti-using-taxpayer-money-for-Robocop statue, which is a stance I wholeheartedly support. I think the whole idea is silly. There was a letter to the editor regarding the woman who pledged to buy the statue herself and truck it up to Detroit in her 1992 Suburban - lady, that’s a 20 year old SUV; how about spending the money buying yourself a new vehicle? That would do more for the economy here and cost you less.
Nothing could better symbolize the current state of Detroit than a film that appears to have predicted it. The only really inaccurate part of the movie is that OCP appears to be the picture of robust corporate financial health.
I’ve often thought that if I were forced to live in Detroit, I might summer in Hell.
Dude, summer’s the best time to be here. The time to be vacationing is now.
Thought this short film might be of interest for those who think Robocop was a documentary. That’s…not quite accurate, to put it mildly.
The whole thing is about half an hour long. It stars Johnny Knoxville, but he’s not at all Jackassy in this one.

\m You guys are probably joking over Robocop, but it actually is a mini controversy starting up .
Detroit has not had a Republican mayor since 1961.
Coincidentally, Detroit was still a very nice place to live back in the 1950’s.
Go figure?
Please explain. Detroit has been on the downward slide since corporations discovered offshoring. Somebody (republicans) has made out very well. The workers have been abandoned.
I would accuse you of confusing correlation and causation, but I’m not at all sure you even think to apply them.
