While we’re on the subject of Bond, I think Mads Mikkelsen (who played a villain) would’ve made an excellent 007. He’s pretty much exactly how I’d picture the perfect Bond. Not sure he could pull off a decent accent though. ---

There was serious talk of having Connery play the Kincade role in **Skyfall** , but it was deemed too confusing. Albert Finney was fantastic anyway. ---

How about Ellen Degeneres as both Sylvester Stallone and John Lithgow in Cliffhanger? Some make up and high heels for the Lithgow role, And prostethic biceps as Sylvester. Just film her opper body, tits can be stand-in for pecks! ---

I liked Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecktor (as they spelled it in that case) in Michael Mann’s 1986 film **Manhunter**. He struck me as more manipulative and more insane than Anthony Hopkins did in his multiple portrayals of the part. According to Wikipedia, they also considered John Lithgow, Mandy Patinkin, Brian Dennehy and William Friedkin for the role. Imagine how it would’ve ben with one of them instead. “My name is Hannibal Lecktor. I killed your father. Prepare to die.” ---

Neither Humphrey Bogart or Gary Cooper would play the Marilyn part. They would portray a frightening Daphne and Josephine… Mick Jagger could play Marilyn. He said he based some of his stage moves on watching her movements in movies. ---

Not to disparage Will Smith, but I don’t think The Matrix would have been a fraction as good as the one with Keanu. I admit I am mesmerized by Keanu Reeves and I’ve watched The Matrix so many times that I finally ‘Got It’ through my thick head. ---

Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. But not the way he ended up doing it, as a quipping boy scout, too Roger Moore _-ish._ No I’m thinking that he should have done it the way he did Tailor of Panama, ruthless, amoral. That would’ve been a blast. ---
