# Could I possibly get "charter membership" status?

I was around long before the whole pay-scheme came around, and I was a charter member when it happened, but my subscription lapsed for a while when I was in money troubles. I couldn’t really justify the cost at the time. Is there anyway to get it? You can check my join date! It goes back to 2003.

Unless things have changed recently, the answer will be no. A while back someone posted the same question after his Charter membership had lapsed and he was late by only a few days. The answer was still no. Sorry.

There was a short amnesty period where those who just missed re-upping for one reason or other got another chance to have the Charter put back in front of Member – but that was ages ago. I think the door’s been closed, as the others said.

Yeah, they were nice about it if you missed it by a few days for the first two years only.
